JOB DESCRIPTIONAlaskans for Mary is seeking a creative and experienced deputy digital content director to join our digital team in Anchorage, Alaska. This position will report to and work with the Digital Director to develop and implement the campaign’s digital communications strategy across traditional online platforms and emerging new media spaces.
Responsibilities:
Build and capture content for our digital communications strategy across social platforms like X, Threads, Bluesky, Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, and Tik Tok in a way that uplifts the campaign’s core message.
Work with the Digital Director to identify new media opportunities and non-traditional social strategies across platforms like Substack, You Tube, Reddit, and more.
Develop the campaign’s vertical video program on Tik Tok, Reels, and You Tube Shorts.
Track metrics regularly to make data-driven recommendations and adjustments.
Be creative and innovative to maximize online engagement, especially during campaign events and rapid response moments.
Create toolkits and manage online partnerships to utilize supporters’ platforms.
Minimum Qualifications:
1-2+ cycles of experience producing digital content for a political campaign, agency, non-profit, elected official, or other organization.
Extensive experience with video editing, graphic design, and capturing photos/video.
Strong writing skills and experience drafting on-message and on-brand copy for a variety of social media platforms – ideally on behalf of another principal.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well under pressure and on several projects.
A strong understanding of effective and emerging digital trends.
Attention to detail, data-driven, and a willingness to try new things.
