Overview
Registered Nurse – ER (Emergency Department) in Kodiak, Alaska. Start date 08/24/2026 for a travel assignment lasting multiple weeks. Shift: 3x12 rotating. Weekly pay: $2,239–$2,337 per week. Guaranteed hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks. Setting:
Emergency Department within a Level IV Trauma, Critical Access Hospital, 6 beds / 5 rooms. Housing and a vehicle are provided for traveler use, with traveler requirements noted. The assignment includes floating within scope to nearby affiliate facilities as needed.

08/24/2026 - Housing & vehicle provided: traveler housing (1-bedroom, no pets) and a vehicle; driver’s license and evidence of insurance required; mileage restrictions apply
- Floating: within scope to affiliate facilities nearby
- Provide professional ED nursing care for a patient population from neonates to geriatrics, including assessment, triage, treatment, and disposition decisions
- Manage ventilator care, continuous IV sedation monitoring, and dysrhythmia management; administer procedural sedation as ordered
- Establish and maintain IV access, start/maintain IV lines, perform phlebotomy, administer medications, and monitor patient responses
- Interpret basic cardiac rhythms (EKG) and respond to changes in patient status; communicate findings with the care team
- Document in the Epic electronic charting system; follow unit policies and maintain accurate, timely records
- Collaborate with the ED team to coordinate care, with an emphasis on patient safety and efficient throughput in a small-beds ED setting; no techs, CNAs, or unit secretary on site
- Active RN license in the state of Alaska (valid state license required; pending licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year ER experience; prior charge nurse experience required
- Certifications:
ACLS, BLS, PALS - Education:
RN degree from an accredited nursing program - Ability to work in a Level IV Trauma ED with continuous acuity; flexible to float within scope to nearby facilities
- Locally restricted to non-local candidates (minimum 50 miles from the facility); willingness to work 2 of the 3 major holidays
- Submission requires SSN, DOB, and RTO; two references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
- Housing provided (typically 1-bedroom, traveler-only) and vehicle for traveler use
- 24/7 recruiter and travel support; dedicated assignment support
- Fast credentialing and pre-start modules (average ~16 hours)
- Assignment limits: maximum 1 calendar year on assignment, followed by a 6-month break
- Documentation and compliance support, including references and health requirements
- Nationwide assignments available through the employer
- Housing and vehicle availability aligned with contract dates
