Position: Supervisory Recreation Specialist (Theater Manager)
Salary: $27.00 – $30.00 per hour (DOE)
Work Schedule: Temp Part Time (Not to Exceed 1 Year)
Location: Kodiak, AK
Duties- Overall management and direction of the 400‑seat movie theater on Base Kodiak.
- Plan and promote the theater, including scheduling and ordering movies, scheduling use for training and all‑hands events.
- Assist in negotiation of agreements with the Navy Motion Picture Service and prepare publicity releases.
- Responsibility for all equipment, maintenance, and corrective action.
- Supervise and train employees; plan work schedules; appraise performance; counsel personnel; recommend personnel actions.
- Prepare and submit annual operating budget requirements.
- Direct operations of a short‑order concession stand: order inventory via vendors, prepare items for retail sale, conduct monthly and spot inventories, reconcile daily sales receipts and make deposits.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Professional knowledge of movie theater operations acquired through formal education or a combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of theater equipment.
- Work experience supervising support staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office.
- Three years’ experience demonstrating professional knowledge of movie theater operations, including retail, supervising support staff, and personnel procedures.
