JOB SUMMARY

The Vehicle and Equipment Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining light vehicles and equipment. This position may supervise apprentice workers engaged in vehicle and equipment repair work. Position may also require work to be performed on medium to heavy duty equipment as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Inspect light vehicles and equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Repair light vehicles and equipment such as large volume pumps and compressors, passenger vans, light duty pickup trucks, welding trucks, medium duty service trucks, and other auxiliary equipment such as light plants, heaters and other non-mobile equipment.
  • Adjust, repair, and replace engines, fuel systems, hydraulic and electrical systems, breaks, suspension, steering, and transmissions.
  • Disassemble and assemble vehicles and equipment parts using hoists, hand tools, pneumatic and electric tools and instruments.
  • Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment, including lubrication and oil changes in accordance with maintenance schedules.
  • Operate vehicles and equipment to diagnose and ensure operating efficiency.
  • Prepare and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle maintenance records that meet OEM warranty requirements.
  • Clean and maintain equipment, tools, and the general work area.
  • Supervise apprentice workers engaged in light vehicle and equipment repair work.
  • Other duties will be assigned to this position as needs require.
  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum of four (4) years related work experience is required.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Driver License required.
  • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification required.
