Reports to: Structure Manager
The Plumber is responsible for installation, maintenance, inspection, modification, remodel, and repair of mechanical plumbing equipment and fixtures for water, gas, oil, steam, sewage, fire‑sprinkler/prevention, and refrigeration‑related plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
Responsibilities- Review, understand, and adhere to the scope of each job and contract, including plans, work orders, and specifications.
- Identify required tools and special equipment.
- Perform Job Safety Assessments and adhere to safety protocols.
- Communicate with supervisors, project managers, and purchasing as needed.
- Inspect all materials upon delivery, confirming against packing slips, specifications, and plans.
- Keep work areas clean and remove all trash at the end of each workday.
- Remove all tools from job sites before departure.
- Install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures, and equipment.
- Assemble and install valves and fittings.
- Install, repair, and maintain water treatment equipment, piping, and controls.
- Install, repair, and maintain underground storm sanitary and water piping systems.
- Install, repair, and maintain sinks, tubs, and toilets.
- Install, repair, and maintain water heaters and conditioners.
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures, appliances, and trim.
- Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks.
- Test, repair, install, and certify backflow prev enters.
- Maintain related records concerning time, labor, and materials; log tasks performed and write reports as required.
- Submit work requests to generate work orders for deficiencies found.
- Participate as a member of the Mechanical Shop Call Out Rotation.
- Perform all other relevant duties assigned by management.
- Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and reliable attendance.
- Diversity and interpersonal skills; teamwork and integrity.
- High school education or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Valid Alaska State Journeyman Plumber License.
- Effective oral and written communication in English.
- Valid Alaska Driver’s License.
- At least 2 years of plumbing experience.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures.
- Completion of company‑provided Confined Space Entry training; ability to work in confined spaces.
- Knowledge of occupational safety and health regulations.
- Ability to drive a company vehicle and maintain insurance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance.
- Compliance with all company policies.
- Alaska Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection License.
- Journeyman or Master License.
Essential and marginal functions may require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, reaching, squatting, and bending for prolonged periods. Times may involve lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.

Condition of EmploymentPursuant to the Company’s collective bargaining agreement with the Teamsters Local 959 Union, employment is contingent upon becoming and remaining a member in good standing with the Union or paying an agency fee.
