Description
The City of Kodiak is recruiting for a full‑time Fleet Mechanic in the Public Works Department. The Department is looking for an experienced team player who has a desire to be part of a progressive Public Works Department working hard to serve the needs of our community.
Under general supervision, this position performs a variety of technical maintenance duties involving minor and major repairs and maintaining mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems on light and heavy gasoline and diesel vehicles, trucks, and equipment. It includes inspecting, diagnosing, overhauling, repairing, and adjusting engines and related vehicle systems and components, performing preventive maintenance duties on a variety of vehicles and equipment, conducting safety inspections, and maintaining a variety of records and reports.
The City of Kodiak owns and operates a wide range of vehicles and equipment. The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for the efficient delivery of a variety of technical duties in repair, maintenance, and record‑keeping on vehicles and equipment.
The Fleet Mechanic must perform these duties in a manner that reflects positively on the City and the Department.
