The COMS Lead oversees and directs Tradesman in the COM department. The COMS Lead provides support to all Government Change of Occupancy Maintenance projects as well as all Change of Occupancy Repairs Projects. The COMS Lead also helps oversee and direct special projects such as IDIQ (indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity) and MRI work as assigned by the Government. Possesses general knowledge of multiple trades including Carpentry, Electrical and Plumbing.
Responsibilities- Coordination and scheduling with Housing and IDIQ CORs for COM work and special projects.
- Oversee, schedule, and organize trade workers to complete housing maintenance work with strict timelines.
- Calculate paint, flooring and other projects for materials and hours. Replace minor wires, switches, fixtures, and motors.
- Use excellent attention to detail to assess repairs needed in housing units and have knowledge of repair and materials needed.
- Use plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
- Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
- Paint structures and equipment.
- Repair or replace concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
- Replace damaged paneling, siding, windows, and floor tiles.
- Hang doors and install door locks.
- Replace broken windowpanes.
- Perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
- Distributes work assignments and work orders.

- 3 years' experience in General Construction trades.
- High School Completion or GED equivalent.
- Ability to work independently.
- Valid Alaska driver's license required.
- Ability to clearly communicate (orally and written) in English.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to pass a drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base.
- Having reliable transportation to/from work is a necessity and must be used in order to obtain access to military installations.

Work EnvironmentThis position requires the ability to maneuver around maintenance sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Ability to perform manual labor under dirty and uncomfortable situations and in all types of weather. Work in inclement weather environments for extended periods. May be required to be on call on a rotational basis as directed. Travel to remote sites may be required.

Physical DemandsLIFTING & CARRYING Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time; carry materials and tools to work site up to 50lbs regularly and 51+ occasionally by team lifting. This position requires manual dexterity sufficient to use hand tools.
MOBILITY The employees will need to move around to attend meetings, access shared resources, and collaborate with team members.
