Mechanic I Range 17.5:
Step $24.71 - $29.59 per hour, depends on DOE Mechanic II Range 20.5:
Step $27.44 - $32.74 per hour, depends on DOE Mechanic III Range 23.5:
Step $30.27 - $36.19 per hour, depends on DOE Mechanic IV Range 26.5:
Step $33.42 - $39.94 per hour, depends on DOE

The Maintenance Mechanic I, under direction of the supervisor or designee, is an entry level position of semi-skilled work experience involved in building maintenance and associated service activities. Work is usually performed under immediate supervision although work assignments that are repetitive in nature, once learned, can be carried out without difficulty under only general supervision. Assignments include the use of standard or specialized tools and occasional operation of light trucks or other equipment.

The Maintenance Mechanic II, under direction of the supervisor or designee, is a position of skilled manual work experience and some technical ability involved in building maintenance, construction, and associated service activities performing a wide variety of near journeyman level maintenance and construction duties in a combination of several trades or crafts. Work is usually performed with minimal supervision. Assignments frequently involve the use of specialized hand and electrical tools and operation of vehicles and equipment.

The Maintenance Mechanic III, under the direction of the supervisor or designee, is an experienced position of skilled technical ability and supervisory work. Work performance covers a variety of skilled repair and construction tasks in a combination of several trades or skilled service areas. Assignments frequently involve the use of standard and specialized hand and electrical tools as well as sophisticated testing equipment.

Responsibilities extend to supervision and training of lower level maintenance personnel in the execution of assigned duties.

The Maintenance Mechanic IV, under the direction of the supervisor, is an experienced position of skilled technical ability and supervisory status over both subordinate maintenance personnel and assigned independent maintenance and systems operations and upkeep. Work performance involves the most complex tasks in the maintenance repair, and installation of electrical and mechanical equipment including power generation equipment, boilers, and associated control systems;

electric systems including clock, public address and fire alarm systems, heat distribution systems, etc. Position frequently involves supervision and training of subordinates during the normal course of job assignments.
