The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Southcoast Region Highways and Aviation/M&O is looking for an Equipment Operator in Kodiak to help us Keep Alaska Moving!
Salary Information- Journey 1: $29.96 per hour – OT Eligible
- Journey 2: $31.82 per hour – OT Eligible
- Journey 3 Lead: $33.96 per hour – OT Eligible
- Journey 1: Performs airport and highway maintenance at a state maintenance station, including a rural Part 139 certificated airport. Responsible for maintaining state highways, airports, seaplane floats, bridges, and docks in a safe and fully operable condition. Complies with FHWA, FAA, TSA, and State of Alaska regulations. Uses light‑duty equipment; heavy equipment is used in a training capacity.
- Journey 2: Performs airport and highway maintenance at a state maintenance station, including a rural Part 139 certificated airport. Responsible for maintaining state highways, airports, seaplane floats, bridges, and docks in a safe condition. Complies with FHWA, FAA, TSA, and State of Alaska regulations.
- Journey 3 Lead: Performs airport and highway maintenance at a state maintenance station, including a rural Part 139 certificated airport. Responsible for maintaining state highways, airports, seaplane floats, bridges, and docks in a safe condition. Complies with FHWA, FAA, TSA, and State of Alaska regulations. Provides leadership for crew.

Core Competencies- Transportation:
Knowledge of principles for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road. - Vehicle operation:
Knowledge of procedures for operating motor vehicles, including cars, trucks, and watercraft. - Problem solving:
Identifies problems, determines accuracy and relevance of information, and uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives. - Eye‑hand coordination:
Accurate coordination of eyes and hands.
This position requires a Class A Alaska Commercial Driver's License (CDL). If you do not have one, you must obtain it within six (6) months of hire.
For Journey 2 and Journey 3 Lead, an N‑Tanker endorsement must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
