GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
The College Connection Coach/Recruiter guides high school students through dual credit, dual enrollment, and Early College programs, ensuring a smooth transition to post‑secondary education. The role builds strong partnerships with local high schools, supports students academically, and helps them reach milestones such as completing dual credit courses, earning a technical certificate, or an associate degree from Ivy Tech Community College. The coach develops and implements strategic outreach and coaching plans to increase student awareness, access, and enrollment at Ivy Tech Community College.
Through individualized support, data‑informed interventions, and ongoing engagement, the coach keeps students on track to finish high school and transition successfully to college‑level programs.
- Deliver on‑site services promoting Dual Credit/Early College programs at high schools, including information sessions, admissions, assessment testing, advising, orientation, registration, transcript collection, and financial aid guidance.
- Participate in Dual Credit/Early College events at area high schools as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and confidentiality of student records and data.
- Teach IVYT courses.
- Recruit on‑ and off‑campus through college fairs, high‑school visits, information events, and community activities, including evenings and weekends.
- Assist applicants with enrollment checklist steps, including Tier1 financial aid support.
- Use Ivy Connect (CRM) to track, recruit, and analyze a targeted student group, adjusting outreach based on intake and conversion metrics.
- Stay current with academic and student affairs program changes.
- Develop collaborative relationships with local schools, colleges/universities, community agencies, employers, and organizations to align with the campus recruitment plan.
- Coordinate with internal Ivy Tech personnel (marketing, K‑14, Accelerated Associate Program, career coaches, academic program chairs, 21stCentury Scholars, Honors College recruiters, etc.) to synchronize recruitment efforts.
- Assist K‑14 staff with dual credit student account creation in and enrollment for dual enrollment courses.
- Create and lead regular small‑group sessions for students, including informal check‑ins and workshops on navigating the college environment, accessing resources, and building peer support networks (e.g., program‑specific groups, financial aid workshops, ACT & SAT information, ITCC assessment).
- Collaborate with a career coach to establish student career workshops that may include on‑campus activities, tours, industry visits, and experiential learning opportunities.
- Other duties logically associated with the position as assigned.
- Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Valid driver’s license; willing to travel and work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
- Excellent relationship‑building skills with diverse populations, including college and school personnel, teachers, and prospective students.
- Effective communication skills (phone, email, written) and experience in public speaking.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) preferred.
- Experience with a customer‑relationship‑management tool preferred.
- Minimum of two years of relevant professional work experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects.
- Proficiency in Spanish.
Starting salary range: $40,000 – $43,000 based on skills, experience, and education.
