Engineering Technician – Electromechanical Systems
Location: Kokomo, IN, 46904

The Engineering Technician supports engineering activities related to the design, testing, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental circuitry, and specialized test equipment. This role works closely with engineering teams to conduct detailed testing, troubleshoot system issues, and document results to support product development and research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Support engineering activities including design testing, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.
- Perform testing and checkout of analog, digital, and/or video circuits and logic systems.
- Work from schematics, diagrams, layouts, written plans, and verbal instructions to execute testing and troubleshooting tasks.
- Conduct engineering and experimental tests to collect design data and assist in research and development efforts.
- Perform operational testing and fault isolation on systems and equipment; assist in identifying corrective actions to resolve malfunctions.
- Assist in the design, construction, testing, and checkout of specialized test equipment.
- Set up and conduct product tests in accordance with technical specifications and test procedures.
- Utilize manufacturing, development, and diagnostic equipment including oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other specialized test apparatus.
- Monitor laboratory test progress to ensure proper execution and adherence to scheduled milestones.
- Record test data accurately and prepare final test reports.
- Acquire and maintain proficiency in the use of general laboratory and test equipment.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical specifications and engineering documentation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, test procedures, and quality requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support resolution of complex technical issues.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel fundamentals.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Hands-on experience in laboratory or test environments.
- Familiarity with electromechanical systems and electronic testing methodologies.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and documentation quality.
