Job Description & How to Apply Below
We’re looking for an Exhibit Engineer who can take creative exhibit concepts and develop the full structural and material framework needed to bring them to life. This role sits at the intersection of design and production, focused on engineering solutions, defining construction methods, and building out detailed bills of materials to support accurate fabrication and execution.
This is a highly detail-oriented position that requires strong problem-solving skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines. While trade show experience is preferred, we’re open to candidates from related design-build environments who understand how to engineer and support physical builds. This is an on-site position.
What You’ll Be Doing:- Partner with design and production teams to evaluate concepts during both the quoting phase and final build to ensure feasibility and efficiency
- Engineer construction and attachment methods for custom-fabricated and modular/extrusion-based exhibit structures
- Develop complete bills of materials for each project to support fabrication, purchasing, and assembly
- Produce detailed engineering documentation, including plan, elevation, and isometric views
- Define connection details, extrusion systems, and custom fabrication requirements with clear material callouts
- Create graphic layout specifications and sizing requirements
- Develop staging details and full assembly instructions, including AV and electrical components
- Prepare crating and packing plans to support logistics and shipping
- Coordinate internally to allocate and secure rental components required for each project
- 3+ years of experience in an engineering or detailing role within exhibits or a related design-build industry
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 3D, Autodesk Inventor, or similar Autodesk platforms
- Experience engineering wood construction, cabinetry, or other custom-built components
- Understanding of CNC programming and how engineering translates to machining
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to problem-solve complex build challenges
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus, but not required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general project systems
- Compensation commensurate with experience + benefits
