- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related scientific field
- Equivalent combination of education and industry experience considered
- Experience with environmental compliance and permitting
- Knowledge of environmental management systems and regulatory requirements
- Experience preparing compliance reports and responding to regulatory inquiries
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to develop and deliver environmental training programs
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to work onsite in Kokomo, IN
- Master's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) certification or equivalent
- Experience supporting sustainability initiatives
- Knowledge of climate change programs, environmental justice, and circular economy practices
- Experience working within large-scale manufacturing or energy production environments
- Experience supporting audits and environmental impact reduction projects
- Lead and optimize environmental management systems, standards, and procedures
- Partner with facility teams to implement sustainability and environmental initiatives
- Support environmental permitting for new and modified equipment
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations
- Prepare environmental reports and regulatory submissions
- Respond to environmental compliance inquiries and investigations
- Provide environmental training and coaching to employees
- Collaborate with project teams to support sustainability and climate initiatives
- Monitor environmental performance and identify improvement opportunities
- Assist with additional environmental and EHS-related projects as needed
Insight Global is seeking an Environmental Specialist for a leading battery manufacturing and energy solutions organization. This individual will join the Environmental, Health & Safety team and play a key role in driving environmental compliance, permitting activities, sustainability initiatives, and environmental impact reduction efforts. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting environmental programs within a manufacturing environment and possess a strong understanding of regulatory compliance, reporting, and environmental management systems.
