Moon Fabricating is seeking a Steel Fabrication Estimator to support bidding and project setup for tanks, ductwork, stacks, hoppers, and custom plate metal components. This role centers on reviewing customer-provided drawings and specifications, performing accurate material takeoffs, and working closely with the shop to establish realistic labor hours and production methods. All projects are based on client-supplied drawings.

• Review customer drawings and specifications for fabrication projects
• Perform detailed material takeoffs (plate, pipe, structural steel)
• Develop Bills of Material (BOMs) for purchasing
• Collaborate with shop leadership to determine labor hours and fabrication approach
• Identify practical build considerations during the estimating phase
• Support project handoff to the shop after award
• Assist with updates and detailing of existing drawings in AutoCAD or Solid Works

• Experience in steel fabrication, estimating, drafting support, or related field
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and weld symbols
• Understanding of how fabricated components are produced (tanks, duct, stacks, etc.)
• Ability to evaluate labor and production requirements
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Working proficiency in AutoCAD or Solid Works

• $85,000 $ 95,000 base salary
• Performance-based bonus
• Full-time, onsite role in Kokomo, IN
