Moon Fabricating is seeking a Steel Fabrication Estimator to support bidding and project setup for tanks, ductwork, stacks, hoppers, and custom plate metal components.

This role centers on reviewing customer‑provided drawings and specifications, performing accurate material takeoffs, and working closely with the shop to establish realistic labor hours and production methods. All projects are based on client‑supplied drawings.

• Review customer drawings and specifications for fabrication projects
• Perform detailed material takeoffs (plate, pipe, structural steel)
• Develop Bills of Material (BOMs) for purchasing
• Collaborate with shop leadership to determine labor hours and fabrication approach
• Identify practical build considerations during the estimating phase
• Support project handoff to the shop after award
• Assist with updates and detailing of existing drawings in AutoCAD or Solid Works

• Experience in steel fabrication, estimating, drafting support, or related field
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and weld symbols
• Understanding of how fabricated components are produced (tanks, duct, stacks, etc.)
• Ability to evaluate labor and production requirements
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Working proficiency in AutoCAD or Solid Works

• $85,000 – $95,000 base salary
• Performance‑based bonus
• Full‑time, onsite role in Kokomo, IN
