Reporting to the Fabrication Department Manager, you'll help manufacture custom equipment while embodying the Merrell Bros. Core Values of Integrity Driven, Commitment to Excellence, Stewardship, Intentional Customer Service, and always choosing to Try Harder.

---# Essential Responsibilities
* Fabricate, fit, weld, and assemble custom steel and metal components for specialized environmental process equipment.
* Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work orders, and verbal direction to accurately build one-of-a-kind equipment and prototypes.
* Perform MIG welding and other welding processes while consistently producing structurally sound, clean, professional-quality welds that reflect true craftsmanship.
* Lay out, fit, tack, fabricate, modify, and repair components using jigs, fixtures, measuring tools, and fabrication techniques.
* Work closely with engineers, designers, machinists, electricians, mechanics, and fellow fabricators to solve fabrication challenges and continuously improve designs.
* Assist in developing and refining fabrication methods for research and development projects where creativity and problem-solving are valued.
* Safely operate forklifts, overhead hoists, plasma cutters, grinders, cutting torches, saws, ironworkers, and other fabrication equipment.
* Inspect completed welds and fabricated assemblies to ensure they meet engineering specifications, dimensional tolerances, and Merrell Bros. quality standards.
* Identify opportunities to improve manufacturability, efficiency, and overall product quality throughout the fabrication process.
* Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas while proactively reporting maintenance or safety concerns.
* Cross-train across fabrication activities and willingly assist teammates wherever needed to accomplish department goals.
* Contribute to a culture where safety, teamwork, continuous improvement, and craftsmanship are expected every day.## Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Familiar with a variety of welder concepts, practices, and procedures.
* Ability to understand welding symbols and diagrams, read blueprints, and/or other printed instructional material in the welding of products or parts.
* Must be thoroughly familiar with welding equipment such as torches, torch tips, filler rods, flux, hoses, valves, and gas cylinders.
* Competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety requirements.
* Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
* Demonstrate willingness to work with others in a team environment.
* Positive, willingness to learn and participate in a changing environment to reach a common goal; not to exceed one written warning.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

* High School diploma or GED required.
* Up to two - four years welding experience or related field.
* Tape Measurement and Blueprint reading skills.
* Aluminum welding and heavy equipment manufacturing experience a plus.
