Registered Nurse; RN - PACU - Community Howard Regional Health

Responsibilities

The PACU Registered Nurse will be responsible for performing direct patient care postoperatively as part of a surgical care team. Responsibilities include assessing, documenting, and managing postoperative pain, assessing airway adequacy and intervening promptly when necessary, and performing cardiac monitoring and interpretation. The RN must demonstrate an understanding of all phases of recovery nursing principles and expectations.

The PACU Registered Nurse should possess strong written, verbal, and nonverbal interpersonal and professional communication skills, demonstrate the ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task, be self-directed and motivated, and maintain a high degree of responsibility and responsiveness.

• Graduate of Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education accredited school of nursing, or three years related professional nursing experience.
• Must have a current and valid license as a Registered Nurse from the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification within one year of employment.
• Must have 2 years experience for a PRN position.
