Overview
Moon Fabricating Corp. is a leader in steel fabrication, coatings, and linings, committed to delivering high-quality products while maintaining a strong culture of safety and continuous improvement. We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-driven Quality Control / Safety Director to join our team.
Responsibilities- Inspect fabricated members to ensure compliance with contract specifications, drawings, applicable codes, and company quality standards.
- Verify that received materials, parts, and consumables meet quality requirements.
- Oversee welder, fitting, rubber lining, and painting training programs.
- Witness and document welder certification testing.
- Create, record, and maintain required Quality Control (QC) documentation.
- Coordinate calibration and maintenance of welding machines and QC tools.
- Organize and maintain quality-related processes including drawing control, inspections, and testing.
- Collaborate closely with production and management teams to drive quality and safety improvements.
- Coordinate onsite safety training sessions with third-party providers.
- Promote a strong culture of safety and quality within the facility.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required.
- Knowledge of AWS D1.1 and D1.6 codes, and ASME Section VIII, Div. 1 standards.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in steel fabrication.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with coatings and applications of coatings and linings.
- Knowledge of NACE surface preparation standards (preferred, but not required).
- OSHA 10-hour certification required; additional safety certifications a plus.
- Strong proficiency with quality control tools and techniques.
- Proven ability to promote and enforce safe work practices in a shop environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with a demonstrated commitment to safety and quality.
Monday through Friday
7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (base schedule)
