Job Description

Family Farm and Home is a family‑owned, Michigan‑based retailer operating 71 stores across Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. We supply a wide variety of products in hardware, automotive, pets, apparel, farm supplies, and lawn & garden, among others.

A seasonal associate must provide outstanding customer service and accurate information to customers regarding merchandise carried within Family Farm and Home. The role includes product merchandising, register assistance, and support of store management as needed. The seasonal associate is a temporary position from February 1 to July 31 with an opportunity for permanent employment based on performance and availability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Promote Family Farm and Home mission statement and family values.
  • Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
  • Uphold merchandising, store cleanliness, and safety standards.
  • Contribute to the daily maintenance of the store.
  • Participate in the recovery, execution, and proper labeling of products.
  • Complete register training, understand all forms of payment related operations, and assist with the register as needed.
  • Follow all Family Farm and Home and OSHA guidelines for a safe work environment.
  • Be conscious of shoplifting activity.
  • Assist customers in locating merchandise in store and on the Family Farm and Home website as well as loading merchandise into vehicles.
  • Support Family Farm and Home selling initiatives, i.e. loyalty program, private label credit card, item of the month and protection plans.
  • Assist in fulfillment and loadout of BOPIS (Buy Online Pick Up In Store) orders.
  • Assist in the completion of store closing duties.
  • Contribute to a positive working environment for all team members.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by store management or company officials.
Seasonal Associate Requirements

Seasonal associates must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays. They need basic product knowledge, a willingness to learn, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. They should demonstrate a commitment to excellent service and customer satisfaction, be a strong team player, yet work independently with minimal supervision, and contribute to a positive working environment.

They must have basic computer skill, be able to stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs. They should be able to climb ladders, reach, bend, twist, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
