The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and inspection of electrical systems and equipment throughout the plant. This role ensures electrical systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and company standards while minimizing equipment downtime and supporting continuous plant operations.
General Responsibilities- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, control systems, lighting systems, and related electrical equipment.
- Inspect, test, calibrate, and maintain electrical components, including transmitters, flow meters, sensors, motors, and Distributed Control System (DCS) components.
- Diagnose electrical malfunctions using testing instruments, diagnostic equipment, electrical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
- Repair or replace defective wiring, equipment, fixtures, motors, and electrical components using appropriate hand and power tools.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical systems to maximize equipment reliability.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), DCS equipment, and associated instrumentation.
- Identify and correct electrical hazards, code violations, and unsafe operating conditions.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, and company safety policies.
- Maintain accurate electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics, maintenance records, and calibration documentation.
- Coordinate and schedule electrical repairs and installations to minimize production downtime.
- Communicate effectively with the Maintenance Supervisor, Plant Manager, and operations personnel regarding equipment status, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Assist in onboarding, mentoring, and training maintenance personnel as needed.
- Participate in emergency repairs, scheduled shutdowns, and after-hours maintenance when required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in electrical systems preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of industrial electrical maintenance experience required.
- Extensive experience with PLC systems, including troubleshooting and programming.
- Experience working with Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
- Strong knowledge of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems.
- Experience with instrumentation and process control equipment; calibration experience is preferred.
- Thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, and industrial electrical safety practices.
- Proficiency using electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, clamp meters, and other diagnostic tools.
- Computer proficiency, including experience with:
- Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- PLC programming software
- Digital blueprints and electrical schematics
- Microsoft Office applications
- Email and electronic maintenance documentation
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a maintenance team.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond effectively to changing production demands.
- Strong organizational, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced PLC troubleshooting and maintenance experience.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of industrial controls, instrumentation, and process automation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
