Job Summary
Operates radiology equipment and performs routine diagnostic procedures as prescribed by Physicians according to established standards and practices to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease. Routinely works in 2 or more specialties.
Job Responsibilities- Performs radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety method as requested by a licensed physician
- Exercise judgement in selecting and computing settings for each patient.
- Develop an appropriate procedure/treatment plan
- Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols/guidelines.
- Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures.
- Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
- Participates in hospital and departmental performance improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards. Collects quality data for monitoring performance improvement.
- Completes assigned goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
:
Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT.
Minimum Experience
:
Experience obtained through completion of a Radiology Technology Program.
Minimum Licensure, Registration, Certification
:
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with Registry in Radiography ARRT (R). BLS Certification within 14 days of hire; new graduates must obtain required registry within 120 days; state license as required.
Minimum Special Skills
:
Demonstrates a thorough understanding of radiologic principals/theory. Utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results. Demonstrates ability to receive and follow written and oral instructions; ability to plan and organize work.
Desired Education
:
Associate degree in a related field.
