Salary Range: $17.00 To $21.00 Hourly
Job Title: Auto Service Technician – Level 1
Reports to: Store Manager (or similar position)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Type: Full-Time
POSITION SUMMARYThe Auto Service Technician is responsible for inspecting and testing vehicles and completing preventive maintenance such as tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, alignments, oil changes, and replacing filters and fluid exchanges.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Completed vehicle inspection every time and communicates to the front counter the items that may need to be repaired before the car leaves the shop.
- Consistently inspect and recommend needed repairs and/or services using the vehicle's inspection report.
- Able to perform the following according to manufacturers specifications:
- Vehicle alignments
- Vehicle fluid exchanges
- Evaluate brake condition and recommend repair
- Oil changes / air filters
- Change, repair, balance, and replace tires ensuring proper torquing on all jobs.
- Monitor and replenish lube related inventory.
- Recommend products and services when needed.
- Completes all necessary training and is required to maintain certifications (or equivalent e.g., Ford):
- ASE A5 – Brakes within 1 year of being in position OR
- ASE G1 – Maintenance and Light Repair
- Assist with phones, front counter, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Mechanical skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record
- Minimum age requirement: 18 years.
- 6 months related experience (preferred)
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred)

Physical Demands:
- Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and walking on uneven surfaces
- Frequent lifting/carrying: up to 50 lbs
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for grasping and dexterity
- Constant visual, auditory, and verbal communication required
- Frequent exposure to noise, dirt, dust, mechanical vibration, fumes, and outdoor conditions
- Occasional work in extreme heat/cold or wet/humid environments
- Occasional hazards due to mechanical equipment and moving objects
Equipment Operated:
- Computer and keyboard
- Tire machines, compressors, air tools, and hand tools
- Company-provided software and system for work orders and inventory
- Required to use protective gear (PPE)
