Job Summary
Collaborates with:
- Middle School Principal(s), High School Administration(s), College & Career Coordinator and Boise, Melba, Nampa and West Ada School Districts
- 6-12 CTE Teachers
Supervises:
- 6-12 CTE Teachers and Staff
Location(s):
Kuna School District
Experience:
- CTE Administrative certificate preferred (or in the process of achieving the certificate)
- Experience as a school administrator required
- Experience teaching in CTE field preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Provides executive leadership for and directs CTE programming for all students.
- Experience in the design and implementation of CTE curriculum as well as delivery of professional development.
- Works closely with school and district staff, parents, students and community members to regularly assess the district's CTE needs; develops short and long-term planning strategies for creating an optimal CTE program.
- Knowledge of the development and monitoring of state and federal requirements for Career and Technical Education, grants, and state reporting.
- Experience with grants and data management.
- Evidence of strong communication skills and collaborative leadership.
- Experience in creating, implementing and assessing a CTE strategic plan.
- Knowledge of current best practices, innovations and research in the area of CTE.
- Knowledge of industry trends including hiring, wage, and skill demand in the marketplace.
- Knowledge of Career Technical Student Organizations and ability to implement and support their growth, and evidence of strong CTSO participation by students.
- Knowledge of existing and emerging technologies including cutting edge education, business and IT applications.
- Ability to lead strategic educational initiatives in the area of CTE that result in measurable improved student achievement.
- Ability to monitor and evaluate student progress and modify plans to meet intended outcomes.
- Ability to build and sustain productive relationships with families, community partners and district stakeholders.
- Proven track record working with industry partners to grow and improve K-12 CTE programs.
- Ability to maintain strong industry advisory committees for existing CTE programs and to grow new CTE programs of study.
- Proven track record of working with higher education partners to build dual credit pathways, articulated programming, and/or similar opportunities for students.
- Knowledge of current industry certifications for CTE pathways and evidence of successful student attainment of capstone industry certifications.
- Ability to implement CTE assessments and use resulting data to grow and improve CTE programming.
- Experience in teacher evaluation and evidence of successful instructional coaching.
- Experience incorporating reading, writing, and mathematics into CTE course instruction and evidence of successful student work samples in those areas.
- Expertise in formative and summative assessment practices.
Major
Responsibilities and Duties:
Program development and leadership
- Oversee all aspects of CTE/CTS programs and services and ensure alignment with district goals and objectives.
- Hire, evaluate, and supervise teaching and support staff with input from school administrators.
- Develop and administer a budget for CTE operations with input from district and school administrators.
- Write, implement and administer the state and federal CTE grants with input from district and school administrators.
- Maintain all required data and metrics and provide that information as needed for program improvement and for federal and state reporting.
- Coordinate CTE/CTS activities, schedules and programs with all 6-12 schools.
- Participate in the development, adoption and implementation of curricula for CTE programs.
- Market CTE programs to all students, families, community and businesses.
