TEKsystems is currently seeking a Senior Cloud and Workplace Enablement Engineer for a 6‑month contract opening that will be a hybrid (3 days on‑site, 2 days remote) schedule located in Boise, .
Role
Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled, Senior‑level contractor for a targeted 6‑month engagement to operate as a cross‑functional "enabling" resource. Working as a bridge between our Cloud, Infrastructure, Workplace, and Information Security practice areas, this role is designed to provide specialized technical expertise, reduce technical debt, and accelerate the adoption of secure, automated practices. The ideal candidate will provide time‑bound support and coaching to our permanent teams to close capability gaps and ensure long‑term operational autonomy.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Cross‑Functional Remediation:
Collaborate to identify, prioritize, and remediate technical debt across both backend cloud infrastructure and end‑user workplace environments. - Security & Identity Initiatives:
Support security enhancements and modernize identity and access controls, focusing heavily on Microsoft Entra , Intune and cloud infrastructure. - Strategic Road mapping:
Assist IT leadership in developing forward‑looking roadmaps for technology adoption, cloud optimization, and modern device management. - Process Optimization & Automation:
Build reusable assets, templates, and automated workflows to eliminate manual toil and optimize configuration management across both teams. - Mentorship &
Coaching:
Act as an enabling force by training and coaching permanent staff on best practices, ensuring that expertise in automation, cloud architecture, and modern workplace tools remains in‑house after the contract ends.
Skills & Qualifications
- Windows Ecosystem:
Deep, Senior‑level expertise in Windows enterprise environments, encompassing architecture, security, and lifecycle management. - Identity & Access Management:
Highly skilled in Identity architecture, specifically Microsoft Entra (formerly Azure AD), including conditional access, SSO, and advanced authentication protocols. - Automation & Configuration Management:
Highly skilled in infrastructure‑as‑code, scripting (e.g., Power Shell), and developing automated configuration management workflows. - Microsoft 365:
Highly skilled in M365 concepts, practices, security, and tenant administration. - Mobile Device Management (MDM):
Highly skilled in endpoint management, provisioning, and policy enforcement, specifically using Microsoft Intune. - Cloud Platforms:
Highly skilled in cloud architecture and operations within AWS or Azure (experience in both is highly preferred).

- AWS or Azure is ok but majority is AWS.
