Haul Truck Driver drives large heavy equipment (Trackhoe, Loader, Dozer, etc.) to and from jobsites. Transport distances are normally local, but out of state hauls would be required a few times a year.

Drives Large tractor-trailer rigs and flat-bed transports to move heavy equipment to and from jobsites. Also Drives truck equipped with dump body to transport and dump loose materials such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, coal, or bituminous paving materials, or drives a truck equipped with a water tank to wet dirt and gravel in construction areas.

Ready Mixer Truck experience is a HUGE plus.

** Drivers will also be expected to drive dump trucks, water trucks, street sweepers, etc.

Position Description

Haul Truck Driver responsibilities and abilities include but are not limited to the list below. Other duties may be assigned.

Operate and drive heavy haul trucks to transport large heavy equipment over short distances either early in the morning or late at night

Loads truck by hand or by operating mechanical loader.

Pulls levers or turns crank to tilt body and dump contents.

Perform inspections of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights, turn signals and brakes

Ensure cargo is properly loaded according to safety requirements, size up load

Follow all safety policies, procedures and legislation, at all times observes and operates within applicable traffic laws

Maintain paper or electronic log book

Communicate with Dispatcher and other Haul Truck Drivers using communication devices such as a two-way radio or onboard computers

Moves hand and foot controls to jerk truck forward and backward to loosen and dump material adhering to body.

May drive special purpose vehicles, including: end dump trucks, center dump truck units, shuttle cars, remix trucks and water trucks

Position Requirements

High School diploma/GED.

Have a minimum of 2 years of haul truck driving experience or a minimum of 2 years of training with a minimum of 6 months of equivalent work experience.

Must have a Class A - CDL

Have Doubles, Triple, Tanker endorsements (HAZMAT, Passenger are good to have too)

Have 2 years strapping down, rigging equipment to flatbed

Must be willing to work nights, real early in the morning, weekends

Must have 1+ year in maintain log books

Willing to do labor work

Ability to work safely under pressure with time constraints in a changing environment.
