Purpose
Create and maintain plans to guide and prepare the company to respond, recover, resume, and restore to a pre‑defined level of operation following disruptive events such as natural disasters and help minimize their impact when they occur.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities- Conduct risk assessments with Business Units to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities (e.g., IT systems, human error, security, power, access, supply chain).
- Complete a Business Impact Analysis with Business Units.
- Review the comprehensiveness and effectiveness of BU‑specific BIA, Risk Assessment, BCP, and Recovery Plan submitted by Business Units, following BU Chief Officer approval, on an annual basis.
- Create and maintain the organizational Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Recovery Plan.
- Create and maintain the Business Continuity Management Policy document.
- Ensure the availability of comprehensive BU‑specific test plans.
- Review and ensure the comprehensiveness and effectiveness of annual BCP test results submitted by BUs.
- Create the organization's Communication Plan.
- Ensure that the Crisis Management Plan and Communication Plan are up‑to‑date and comprehensive.
- Measure, maintain, and update all business continuity processes and documents as technology and business evolve.
- Drive continual improvement of the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) within the Company.
- Ensure Minimum Time to Perform Disruption (MTPD) and Minimum Business Continuity Objective (MBCO) for critical products and services are defined and set up.
- Coordinate the BCMS Internal Review Plan involving all assigned BC champions.
- Ensure all applicable legal and regulatory requirements pertaining to business continuity and stakeholder interests are met during the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of the BCMS.
- Undertake projects and assignments to continuously enhance the BCMS structure.
- Assist in the overall management and implementation of business continuity initiatives.
- Provide hands‑on support to business units in developing business unit recovery plans and BC‑related documents, leveraging existing efforts and best practices.
- Develop and execute training programs:
- Train employees with BCM responsibilities and general staff to raise BCM awareness.
- Develop training materials.
- Prepare and report updates to documents, present to management, and issue status reports on projects and initiatives.
- Provide data‑driven analysis to assist management in decision‑making and addressing deviations from established processes and standards.
- Act as a focal point for organization‑wide BC initiatives and efforts.
- Work closely with critical business units to understand processes, identify risks, and provide risk‑management solutions.
- Provide internal consultative advisory services to business units on all BCM matters.
- Coordinate continuity efforts after a disruption event.
- Lead key business functions to create, document, implement, test, and maintain effective Business Continuity plans.
A bachelor’s degree in business management, computer science, disaster management, or a related field.
