Credit Officer

Role PurposeAs a Credit Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the credit application process by reviewing, verifying, and processing customer credit applications while ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and established service level agreements (SLAs). You will assist in credit risk assessment, maintain accurate records, and provide timely support to customers and internal stakeholders throughout the credit evaluation process.
Duties & Responsibilities- Review and process credit applications by verifying customer provided documents and information.
- Verify customer information, including financial statements, identification, and references provided in credit applications.
- Ensure applications are processed accurately and within the set SLA timelines.
- Accurately input credit application data into the system and ensure records are up to date.
- Communicate with customers to clarify and validate submitted details as needed.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding credit terms, limits, and account status.
- Conduct initial credit checks and assessments under the guidance of senior officers.
- Assist in assessing credit risks in accordance with company credit policies and guidelines.
- Support senior officers in recommending credit approvals, modifications, or rejections based on findings.
- Prepare reports on credit applications, approvals, rejections, and pipeline status for management review.
- Provide professional and timely communication to internal teams and external clients.
- Ensure all credit processing activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in credit processing, financial services, or a related role.
- Internship experience in credit, banking, or financing operations is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of credit policies, financial documentation, and risk assessment.
- Familiarity with credit verification processes and financial documentation is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and internal teams.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in handling sensitive financial information.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
