The Key Account Manager is accountable for the assigned product portfolio within their territory and is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with key opinion leaders, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. The role focuses on driving patient identification, supporting reimbursement processes, and ensuring patients have timely access to treatment. In addition, the Key Account Manager works closely with medical and allied healthcare professionals to promote the optimal use of Sobi's therapies, providing ongoing scientific and product support while contributing to the achievement of sales objectives and improved patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate disease state knowledge and awareness to HCPs.
- Act as a credible field based reference to introduce and build product and disease awareness.
- Partner with and ensure the long term success of customers; develop long term relationships with a portfolio of assigned customer accounts including physicians and payors, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders.
- Assist in the identification and resolution of issues and opportunities and communicate proactively to sales and marketing management.
- Implement a customer centric approach, delivering the best value proposition for each customer and identifying key business questions to define priorities.
- Develop account plans and design/implement specific projects at account level, interacting with hospital pharmacies, purchasing departments, and management boards.
- Analyze performance for all products in the portfolio, identify growth opportunities, and provide solutions to management.
- Provide, update, and analyze data related to the Sobi portfolio in all accounts at area level (e.g., monthly consumption, forecasted orders, phasing of orders, stocks, etc.).
- Assure that Sobi products are used in the most effective and efficacious manner.
- Liaise with cross functions to develop tactical plans for scaling up product access and ensuring product availability.
- Conduct scientific exchange with HCPs and support early patient identification.
- Provide support for evidence based treatment protocols and pathways.
- Identify customers and manage sales promotion of assigned registered products to target doctors to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual targets in line with company strategy.
- Conduct regular visits and participate in symposiums, congresses, and meetings to increase market presence.
- Carry out business related actions in line with the industry code of ethics and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Develop weekly and monthly visit plans in consultation with the line manager and in compliance with internal sales systems and procedures.
- Maintain and update product and competition knowledge to represent Sobi as the leader in the rare disease area.
- Implement ongoing targeting and profiling of customers.
- Liaise with key opinion leaders to gather market feedback and report relevant information to the line manager in line with company procedures and best practice.
- Track and report competition activities and market dynamics.
- Enrich continuous collaboration and alignment with cross functions in all activities.
- Plan, manage time, and act with high urgency and fast execution to complete assigned tasks on a daily basis.
- Make timely decisions and initiate efficient action plans when needed.
- Show care for patients by contributing to Sobi's mission of providing transformational treatments for people with rare disease, improving their quality of life and saving their lives whenever possible.
- Bachelor's degree in a medical field (Pharmacy, Medicine).
- 2-5 years of sales experience in the pharmaceutical industry within an assigned geographical area of responsibility.
- Experience in the rare diseases field, preferably in hematology, nephrology, or oncology.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
- Ability to manage a diversified portfolio and business complexity.
- Proven track record of achievements and demonstrated ability to consistently meet and exceed sales budget targets.
- Knowledge of the local health system and decision making processes.
- Demonstration of Sobi values: care, ownership, urgency, partnership, ambition.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic.
