Electrician Journeyman

Electrician Journeyman - Full Time, On Site - V2X, Kuwait City, Kuwait.

This position will be physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP.

• Installs, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, operates, and maintains electrical systems and components of electrical power distribution and generating equipment.
• Performs operations and maintenance duties to maintain power to telecommunications equipment.
• Maintains the facility's physical electrical distribution system in good repair.
• Schedules and manages multiple job sites and competing priorities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if a degree is required.
• Must possess a Journeyman Electrician license.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a host country driver's license.
• Minimum of five to seven years of work experience in the electrical wiring industry, including planning, laying out, and installing electrical distribution systems in accordance with the NEC.
• Experience working under the direct supervision of a qualifying electrician for a licensed electrical contractor.
• Thorough knowledge of Electrical Codes.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to recognize the importance of safety, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, and report unsafe conditions.
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 F ( 49
  
  C). Indoor and outdoor environments with hot, dry, dusty conditions are expected.
• Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing or sitting, and exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required as necessary.

Work will be conducted in an extremely hot desert environment, with average winter temperatures of 30 F (-1

C) and summer temperatures up to 130 F ( 54

C). Both indoor and outdoor work environments may present adverse conditions.

Light work:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and minimal force constantly. The job may involve heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing or sitting, and working in areas where chemical or biological agents may be present.
