The position reports to the facilities manager and operates under close supervision with little latitude for independent judgment and initiative.

Ministerial Character

The Pastor is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the Parish of St. Anthony Marie de Claret Catholic Church, which the Bishop has entrusted to him. He makes Christ’s mission present and enduring in the parish. To fulfill his mission, the Pastor employs suitable, chosen collaborators (clerics, religious, or lay people). He shares his mission with them and entrusts them with various responsibilities.

Positions employed hony’s help extend the pastor's ministry in particular ways, as outlined in the job description. Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the Pastor in performing his ministry, thereby engaging in ministry for the Church.

Job Duties

• As an integral part of your ministry for the Church as carried out in this position, support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of St. Anthony’s in both your professional and personal life.
• Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
• Continuously grow in your ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed.
• Janitorial services for St. Anthony’s campus include,

• Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors
• Dusting and wiping down pews, altars, and furniture
• Emptying and replacing trash liners
• Cleaning and sanitizing windows, doors, and glass surfaces

• Polishing woodwork (pews, altar, podium)
• Vacuuming or shampooing carpets
• Cleaning and dusting musical instruments (organ, piano, drums)
• Maintaining the cleanliness of baptismal fonts and communion tables

• Scrubbing toilets, sinks, and urinals
• Refilling soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
• Mopping and disinfecting floors
• Removing odors and maintaining air fresheners

• Sweeping sidewalks and entrances
• Cleaning door handles, windows, and signage
• Emptying outdoor trash bins
• Removing cobwebs and debris from entryways

• Deep cleaning carpets and upholstery
• Waxing and buffing floors
• Pressure washing exterior walkways
• Cleaning gutters and light fixtures
• Disinfecting spaces after significant events or services
• Wiping down tables and chairs
• Cleaning floors after events
• Sanitizing high-touch areas (doorknobs, light switches)

• Knowledge:
• Cleaning Techniques – Proper methods for sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing.
• Chemical Usage & Safety – Knowledge of cleaning agents, disinfectants, and their safe handling (e.g., Material Safety Data Sheets - MSDS).
• Equipment Operation – How to use vacuums, floor buffers, carpet cleaners, and pressure washers.
• Building Maintenance Basics – Minor repairs, changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, etc.
• Waste Disposal & Recycling – Proper sorting and disposal of trash and hazardous materials.
• Workplace Safety Procedures – OSHA standards, slip-and-fall prevention, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Time Management & Scheduling – Prioritizing tasks to maintain cleanliness efficiently.
• Skills:
• Attention to Detail – Spotting dirt, spills, and areas needing maintenance.
• Physical Stamina & Strength – Ability to stand, bend, lift, and carry heavy objects (e.g., trash bags, equipment).
