Job Description

Our Facility Maintenance Technician is in charge of keeping our residents living areas well-kept and serviced to high standards. You should also be able to resolve resident complaint and queries promptly and in a polite manner. You are the right candidate if you are pleasant, detailed oriented and friendly.

Responsibilities
  • Performs general maintenance work on a daily basis, including but not limited to, replacing light bulbs, repairing electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and appliances.
  • Prepares resident apartments for new occupants by painting, cleaning carpets and general maintenance by either providing these activities or working as a team member to achieve these results.
  • Maintains the grounds by mowing, sweeping and trimming trees and shrubs, or other such activities, such that the outside grounds are always presentable.
  • Assists in coordination of community events.
  • Supervises and coordinates with housekeeping staff.
  • Train and mentor housekeeping team members.
  • Mange inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Assists in all phases of maintenance pertaining to resident apartments and common areas of the community.
  • Assists Maintenance Director with proper function of all emergency systems.
  • Assists in the transporting and storage of resident property.
  • Demonstrates ability to read, write, and speak English sufficient to fulfill job requirements.
  • Demonstrates the ability to make independent decisions, solve practical problems that may or may not include a variety of concrete variables. This may require the ability to interpret instructions given in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form

Demonstrates the ability to listen actively and evaluate social situations in an objective, consistent and fair manner. Functions independently with integrity, flexibility and works well with residents, personnel and support agencies.

Complies with community policies and procedures for workplace safety including infection control procedures, emergency response and safety protocol.

Complies with all company policies and procedures related to resident rights; abuse prevention and reporting; and resident confidentiality (HIPPA).Demonstrates knowledge of Employee Handbook and complies with the policies in the Handbook.

Performs other related duties as may be assigned

Qualifications
  • Previous experience of at least 1 year in general maintenance and/or construction
  • Must have a valid driver’s license in the State
  • Must be knowledgeable of maintenance practices and procedures in plumbing, electrical, hvac, etc.
  • Must have computer knowledge of TELS and experience using Microsoft Office.
