Job Description Summary
Provides safe, accurate and efficient patient care, including but not limited to: patient assessment, review of labs and vital signs, medication safety, dose verification, and drug administration. Follows all Job Breakdown Instructions (JBIs) associated with role. Provides triage care when necessary. Communicates patient condition effectively to multidisciplinary team members.

Key Performance AreasSafely and accurately administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, supportive care, and non‑oncologic agents to patients as ordered by providers, using Oncology Nurse’s Society (ONS) standards and guidelines. Accurately dispose of biohazardous waste per OSHA and NIOSH guidelines. Provide new and ongoing patient education, continual patient assessment, and support. Document thoroughly, accurately, and timely in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Ensure appropriate charges are captured per medication guidelines.
Follow proper patient identification per JBI for all encounters. Educate patients and caregivers about medications, side effects, and planned treatment course. Interact with patients and families in a caring, professional manner. Conduct telephone triage, prioritizing incoming calls and messages from patients, families, hospitals, nursing facilities, pharmacies, and physician offices. Respond in an appropriate timeframe. Assist with inventory and restocking supplies, recommending new items and placing stock in storage areas timely.
Complete annual safety and nursing trainings, attend mandatory staff meetings, and maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information. Assist in training new employees according to JBIs. Work at any Company location as required, including overtime with sufficient notice. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Comply with all federal and state laws regarding patient privacy, personnel law, safety, labor, and employment.
Adhere to Company and departmental policies, IT procedures, and Disaster Plan.
- Nursing Degree
- Unencumbered RN License in state of employment or multi‑state license
- Current CPR and BLS certifications
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed
- Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting
- Ability to assess patient needs and condition, strong critical thinking, and calm, effective response in emergencies
- Fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Analysis & Critical Thinking: problem solving, analysis, decision‑making, planning, time management and organization
- Interpersonal Effectiveness: emotional intelligence, diplomacy, conflict management, delegation, diversity awareness, sensitive handling of confidential material

Standard Core Workdays / HoursMonday to Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Occasional overtime and weekend shifts may be required based on location hours and operational needs.
