Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse

TNAA Total Med RN is seeking a travel nurse RN in the Operating Room (OR) for a 13‑week assignment in Kyle, Texas. The position will involve 40 hours per week, 10‑hour evening shifts, and travel staffing. Pay is based on 10‑hour shifts with a tax‑free stipend, subject to confirmation.

• Assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients.
• Provide pre‑ and post‑surgery care and education to patients and families.
• Backup circulating or scrub duties in the operating suite.
• Monitor and observe patients during surgery, responding to complications.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions.
• Serve as a communication liaison between patient families and the surgical team.
• Ensure correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
• Respond to comfort and safety needs of patient.
• Accurate care and handling of specimens and surgical items.
• Monitor surgical equipment and inventory items pre‑ and post‑procedure.
• Assist physicians by delivering direct surgical care, controlling bleeding, suturing patients following surgery (if RN First Assistant).

• Registered Nurse (RN) with 1–2 years recent acute care experience as a circulating or scrub nurse, and/or RN First Assistant.
• BLS certification; additional certifications may be required.
• BLS, 3 Years of experience.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lean, and stoop for long periods; lift up to 20 lb comfortably and up to 50 lb occasionally.
• Physical fitness to perform duties in an operating room environment.
