Brennan is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team onsite in La Crosse, WI. At Brennan, our work is built on precision, teamwork, and doing things the right way and that starts with our people. As a Payroll Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our crews across the country are paid accurately and on time. This isn’t your typical payroll role you’ll navigate complex, project-based wages, multi-state payroll, and varying tax requirements, all while partnering with teams across the organization to gather and verify key information.

Payroll Specialist Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for weekly and salary payroll processing
  • Schedule tax payments, child support payments, and monthly fringe payments
  • Assist with W-2 preparation and year-end reconciliation
  • Provide timely and accurate response to all unemployment wage audits
  • Lead support to travelling employees in entering and approving timecards into payroll system
  • Respond to employee questions and information requests as it relates to Payroll
  • Complete requests for information from unions
  • Respond to all employment verifications
  • Maintain organized, up-to-date payroll files and documentation, ensuring compliance with recordkeeping and audit requirements
  • Serves as a backup to team members for payroll processing duties
  • Other duties as assigned
Payroll Specialist

Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years’ experience working in a professional administrative setting
  • Associate degree in accounting or related field or equivalent work experience is preferred
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, on computers and other electronic devices
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
