The Automotive Technician at Firestone Complete Auto Care in Des Moines, IA is a full-time, on-site role responsible for performing routine vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and repair services. Day-to-day tasks include completing oil changes, rotating and balancing tires, performing brake services, and working on suspension components to ensure vehicle safety and performance. The technician will follow standardized repair procedures, maintain clean and safe work areas, and use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve mechanical issues.

This role also involves communicating clearly with service advisors, documenting work performed, and upholding company standards for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

• Strong skills in Vehicle Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair, with the ability to follow established service procedures.
• Proficiency in performing Oil Changes and basic automotive services accurately and efficiently.
• Experience in Automotive Repair, including troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues.
• Knowledge of Suspension systems and related components to diagnose and repair handling or ride issues.
• Relevant certifications or training in automotive technology (e.g., ASE or manufacturer-specific) are beneficial.
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment and hand tools safely, with attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced shop environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience as an automotive technician or in a similar role preferred.
