Construction Superintendent

This is an opportunity to take ownership of jobsite leadership for a well-established construction organization known for quality craftsmanship and a strong safety culture. Due to continued growth, the organization is actively hiring for multiple Superintendent openings across active projects. The Superintendent will direct all aspects of on-site construction, serving as the driving force behind schedule, safety, and quality. This role offers the chance to work closely with project managers, owners, and design teams while building and leading strong field teams, with a path to Lead Superintendent or General Superintendent responsibilities for the right candidate.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises labor crew foremen, labor crews, and subcontractors
• Fulfills staffing requirements according to construction schedule
• Ensures materials, tools, equipment, and labor are available for scheduled work
• Consults with and directs subcontractors and self-performed trades in planning and executing work
• Coordinates phases of work to ensure timely project deliverables
• Manages relationships with project managers, owners, architects, inspectors, and engineers
• Leads project changes as needed
• Inspects work in progress for conformance to specifications and schedule
• Collaborates with the project manager to forecast upcoming construction phase requirements
• Champions jobsite safety and holds all site workers accountable to safety policies
• Reports accidents, injuries, and safety violations
• Maintains compliance with stormwater, controlled access, and hazardous waste requirements
• Chairs weekly foreman meetings covering safety, materials, compliance, and scheduling
• Composes and maintains rolling 3 to 4-week schedules
• Completes daily progress reports and site crew timesheets
• Evaluates progress using labor productivity metrics
• Conducts weekly jobsite safety audits and reports findings
• Generates RFIs and documents resolutions
• Coordinates inspections, punch lists, and close-out documentation
• Discusses labor issues with union representatives as needed
• Reviews and submits new hire paperwork for trade employees
• Receives and verifies incoming materials

Qualifications

Required

• Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or equivalent jobsite experience
• OSHA 30 Certification within 90 days of start
• 5+ years of in-the-field construction experience
• 5+ years of construction leadership experience
• Valid driver's license
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Preferred

• Experience with Procore or similar construction management software
• Familiarity with scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
• Background in self-performed trade work such as carpentry, concrete, or rigging
• Experience coordinating multiple jobsites or traveling superintendent roles
• Additional certifications such as rigger/signal person, crane operator, or aerial lift operator
• Ability to oversee multiple projects across multiple locations simultaneously
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Sound independent judgment and decision-making ability
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret plans and specifications
