Kwik Trip, Inc.'s Marketing Department is seeking a Graphic Design Intern to join the Creative Services team. This role provides hands-on experience supporting brand, marketing, and communication initiatives across the organization. The Graphic Design Intern will assist with the development, production, and execution of creative materials that support marketing campaigns, internal communications, retail environments, and brand-building efforts across Kwik Trip’s various brands.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist the Creative Services team with the design and production of marketing materials across multiple channels, including point-of-sale signage, direct mail, digital communications, social media assets, presentations, and promotional materials.
  • Design and update a variety of materials supporting internal communications, including employee-facing announcements, presentations, digital signage, recognition programs, and corporate messaging initiatives.
  • Support the creation and production of environmental graphics for stores, corporate facilities, events, trade shows, and other branded environments.
  • Perform photo editing and retouching tasks, including color correction, image cleanup, background removal, compositing, cropping, and preparing photography assets for print and digital applications.
  • Prepare production-ready artwork and files according to print and digital specifications while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.
  • Modify, revise, and update existing creative assets while maintaining version control and brand consistency.
  • Assist with the organization, tagging, maintenance, and management of digital assets within company file systems and asset libraries.
  • Create mockups, prototypes, and presentation materials to support campaign development and stakeholder reviews.
  • Collaborate with designers, photographers, videographers, marketers, and cross-functional business partners to support project execution and workload priorities.
  • Learn and apply best practices related to design, branding, typography, composition, photography, accessibility, and visual communication.
  • Support Creative Services with administrative and production-related tasks as needed to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule.
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, Photography, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Understanding of core design principles including typography, color theory, layout, visual hierarchy, and brand consistency.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Experience using Adobe Photoshop for image editing, photo retouching, and asset preparation.
  • Basic understanding of print production processes, file preparation, and design specifications for both print and digital media.
  • Familiarity with photography concepts and image management practices preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated creativity, curiosity, and willingness to learn new design tools, technologies, and processes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Photoshop experience including image selection, editing, or retouching.
  • Familiarity with digital asset management systems or creative workflow tools.

Work Schedule

This is a paid internship that will last approximately 8 months, with the potential for extension based on business needs and candidate performance. Students must be available to work up to 20 hours per week during the academic semester and may have the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week during school breaks. Flexible scheduling is available to accommodate academic commitments.
