Position: Volleyball Coach (part-time)

Job Summary:

Recruit, plan practices, fund raise, game strategize, supervise players

Essential Functions
  • Maintain and uphold the College values of Learning, Excellence, Accountability, Diversity, Student Success, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect. Regular attendance is required.
  • Complete all required College training and be responsible for maintaining the skills necessary for the essential functions defined by the department.
  • Student Success is the cornerstone of Western's culture and the college may assign employees as needed to other areas or additional duties to foster this success.
  • Coaching Duties
    • Demonstrate past or current coaching practices/schedules
    • Prepare athletes for competition
    • Recruiting/Scouting of future athletes
    • Oversee fundraising efforts
    • Demonstrate communication and supervisory skills to ensure team rules/regulations regarding conduct and eligibility of athlete are clearly communicated and followed up
    • Knowledge of technique and fundamentals plus drills associated with the sport
    • Knowledge of technical aspects of the assigned sport and willingness to continue to learn and examine new ideas pertinent to the assigned sport.
    • Model good sportsmanship behavior and maintain appropriate conduct towards opposing team, fans, parents, officials, spectators and community
  • Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Prior Coaching experience in High School or College level

    Required Certifications/Licenses:

    • CPR/AED
    Special Instructions/About Western

    This position reports to:
    Manager - Health, Wellness and Recreation

    Stipend of $7500/season
