Job DutiesEach department at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse maintains an ongoing search to serve as a pool of potential instructors for program needs. If hired from this pool, the instructor will be under the general supervision of the relevant department chair. The instructor is responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses, including preparing for and holding classes (face‑to‑face, hybrid, and/or online).
Teaching also involves maintaining currency in the content area, evaluating student work, assessing outcomes, providing substantive feedback, maintaining records, and holding office hours. Additional duties may include advising students or other service to the department, and any assignments from the chair or dean.
- Facilitate classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
- Develop instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
- Serve as an initial point of contact for students regarding specific course or series content and expectations
Master’s degree in a field appropriate to the department or significant progress toward a doctorate; or, in rare circumstances, post‑baccalaureate certification, licensure, or a bachelor’s plus experience, as appropriate. Specific certification, licensure, or clinical experience may be required depending on the program.
