The university is seeking a qualified candidate that demonstrates exceptional coaching abilities in basketball for the Women’s basketball team. The successful candidate must also possess qualifications for a collateral assignment in the Admissions Office as an Admissions Counselor.

This unique position will be deployed as an established champion for the basketball teams by aligning recruitment efforts in Admissions. The successful candidate will need to have demonstrated a successful career of working with students of various backgrounds, which may include low income, first generation, and students from urban schools.
** Physical Demands
** Lifting and transporting materials up to 35 lbs. is required.
** Working conditions and environment
** Must be willing to work evenings and weekends. Admissions Counselor:
Typical work hours are 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. However, numerous evening and weekend hours will be required. The ability to travel throughout the Midwest by automobile is also required.

Job Responsibilities:

**** Admissions Counselor
** In the Admission Office, the Admissions and Recruitment Coordinator II, with the working title of Admissions Counselor, will report to the Associate Director of Admissions. This position plays a significant role in the recruitment and outreach activities of the Admissions Office. Our goal is to increase the number of applicants to the University and enroll a talented and diverse student body representing the state of Wisconsin and Upper Midwest.

The Admissions Counselor will meet with prospective students and their parents, high school counselors, various groups on and off-campus, alumni, and other contacts to promote the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse opportunities. Particular attention will be given to populations that add to the diversity of the student body, including those with various backgrounds and experiences, low income, first generation, students from urban schools, and athletes.

A significant part of the recruitment process will be establishing and nurturing relationships that can serve as a conduit for students to learn about UW-La Crosse. This staff member will collaborate with other Admissions Office staff members, working together to coordinate recruitment activities. Extensive travel is required, especially during the fall and spring recruitment seasons.
