SCADA Engineer , II or III

Position: SCADA Engineer I, II or III
** PURPOSE****:
** This position supports Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Energy Management Systems (EMS) essential to the operation of the DPC Bulk Electric System and member distribution electric systems.
* Assist in maintenance and recovery of reliable operation of assigned systems that are used to operate mission critical functions.
* Provide on-call support outside of normal business hours, rotating with other staff.
* Provide support for mission critical staff and systems, including after hours.
* Maintain technical knowledge of diagnostic and recovery procedures
* Assist with high availability and disaster recovery solutions for mission critical functions
* Conduct maintenance and support activities in a manner that maximizes the availability of critical functions
* Protect the integrity and security of data, controls, applications, systems and networks, in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and DPC policies.
* Assist primary application owners with support and troubleshooting SCADA/EMS adjacent applications, including data archives, demand response, meter reading, and energy accounting.
* Maintain application definitions to meet changing operational and user requirements.
* Provide instruction to users and cross-train with peers. Maintain technical and user documentation.
* Provide remote and onsite support, occasionally traveling to offsite locations.
* Escalate support and request items to appropriate technology staff or vendors when necessary, ensuring proper communication and follow-up with the customer occurs.
* Build relationships with end users, IT team members, and business leaders to improve engagement and understanding of departmental roles and responsibilities.
* Assist with communicating outages, maintenance, and process updates.
* Participate in various projects and project tasks where appropriate.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
** Education & Experience****:
*** Bachelor’s degree in an Information Systems or Electrical Engineering related field.
* Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
* Strong organizational, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills.
* Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Must be self‐motivated, disciplined, and able to perform job duties both independently and in a team setting.
* Familiarity with information technology systems.
* Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Electrical Engineering related field.
* Two (2) years of relevant experience
* Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
* Strong organizational, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills.
* Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Must be self‐motivated, disciplined, and able to perform job duties both independently and in a team setting.
* Ability to maintain technical documentation and cross-train peers.
* Strong knowledge of information or operational technology systems.
* Familiarity with the configuration and maintenance of SCADA or EMS systems.
* Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Electrical Engineering related field.
* Four (4) years of relevant experience
* Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
* Strong organizational, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills.
* Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Must be self‐motivated, disciplined, and able to perform job duties both independently and in a team setting.
* Ability to maintain technical documentation and cross-train peers.
* Strong knowledge of operational technology systems
* Experience with the configuration and maintenance of SCADA and EMS systems.
* Experience with the Bulk Electric System and the elements modeled in SCADA/EMS.
* Knowledge and understanding of electric utility business principles, compliance programs and operations.
* Ability to cross-train peers and maintain technical documentation.
* Experience with programming or scripting language (C, Python, Bash, PHP, Powershell).
* Familiarity with operational technology systems.
* Experience working within a cooperative utility environment
* Knowledge of telecommunications, data center infrastructure, digital security, and networking.
* Experience with AI tools.
