Job Summary:

NAES is seeking a Plant Optimization Engineer to support performance monitoring and optimization initiatives across a fleet of power generation facilities. This role focuses on analyzing plant operating data, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reliability, and supporting operational improvements across generation assets. The engineer will work closely with plant operations, maintenance, and engineering teams while preparing technical reports and recommendations that support improved plant performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Analyze plant operating data and performance metrics to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and operational performance.

* Utilize plant data systems such as PI Historian to evaluate equipment performance and develop actionable insights.

* Perform thermodynamic and operational analysis of generation equipment and plant systems to support performance improvement initiatives.

* Develop and maintain plant performance monitoring tools, models, and reporting programs.

* Prepare technical reports and written recommendations that communicate performance trends, operational issues, and optimization opportunities.

* Collaborate with plant operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to evaluate system performance and implement improvement initiatives.

* Support plant testing activities, performance monitoring programs, and engineering studies related to plant optimization.

* Travel to generation facilities across the fleet to support plant personnel, review performance issues, and assist with troubleshooting and system improvements.

Job Requirements:

* Strong understanding of power generation systems, plant performance monitoring, and operational optimization.

* Experience analyzing plant data and performance trends using systems such as PI Historian or similar plant data platforms.

* Familiarity with distributed control systems (Emerson DCS preferred).

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex operational data.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear technical reports.

* Ability to work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams in a dynamic plant environment.

* Ability to travel to plant sites across the fleet as needed.

Education / Experience:

* Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline preferred).

* 3+ years of experience in power generation engineering, plant performance engineering, plant operations support, or related technical roles.

* Experience supporting power plant operations, maintenance, or performance analysis preferred.

* Experience with plant performance monitoring, thermodynamic analysis, or operational optimization strongly preferred.
