Anticipated start date: 08/03/2026. Number of positions:
1. Salary range:
Approx. $8,060/month, with an average annual salary of $96,723. This is a full-time (40 hrs/week) position, 6 days a week (5 regular working days and one on‑call day). Subject to on‑call, overtime, alternate shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays. Shift assignments are governed by union agreement, typically based on seniority.

Moderate travel is required. While the work location is headquartered, there will be travel and work within the assigned seniority region at times for an extended time.

Training for this position is company‑paid on‑the‑job and classroom training and will include travel to the BNSF Training Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining various telecommunications equipment, including radios, digital microwave (MW), and radio frequency (RF) data link equipment.
  • Install, assemble, repair, adjust, test and maintain wired and wireless systems and devices, automatic equipment identification (AEI) systems, IP networks, VoIP, cameras, Radio Frequency communications, voice and data communications, front and end train devices, and soldering electrical/electronic components.
  • Troubleshooting telecommunications devices to the component level, collaborating with the IT help desk to resolve trouble tickets, and recording repairs in the Repair Tracking System.
  • Configuring and using testing equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, DMM, signal generator, communications service monitor) to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Reading and interpreting electronic circuit schematics for circuit board and component level troubleshooting and repair.
  • Inspecting and calibrating devices, configuring devices with various platforms and protocols (e.g., Windows, Linux, IP), configuring IP networking devices, and performing advanced soldering on Through Hole and Surface Mount Devices (SMD).
  • Daily work is conducted in a safety sensitive environment where the working conditions can include diverse and extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet), walking and performing work on uneven surfaces, working around loud noises, fumes, and heavy/moving machinery.

Basic Qualifications
