Water/Wastewater Engineer
The Water/Wastewater Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and implementation of advanced water and wastewater treatment systems. This role involves applying engineering principles to develop efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions for water management challenges.
Design and Development:
- Develop detailed engineering designs for water and wastewater treatment facilities, including:
- Process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and layout plans.
- Utilize computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and hydraulic modeling software to optimize system performance.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams in the execution of complex engineering projects from conception through commissioning.
- Prepare technical specifications, cost estimates, and project schedules.
- Conduct process simulations using software such as HYSYS or Aspen Plus to evaluate treatment processes.
- Implement process control strategies to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant environmental regulations, such as the Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, and local permitting requirements.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation for regulatory approval processes.
- Provide technical guidance for the operation and maintenance of treatment facilities.
- Diagnose complex system issues using root cause analysis techniques and propose corrective actions.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, EPANET, and MATLAB.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and statistical software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing technical reports and presentations.
Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering
PreferredQualification:
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure within a year.
A minimum of five years of experience in water/wastewater engineering with a focus on treatment processes.
