What you will do- Use collection software tools to execute strategies and initiatives that improve receivable delinquency and lower Days Sales Outstanding.
- Respond to customer inquiries, documentation issues, billing errors, payment application errors, disputes, program changes, and new sale requests accurately and timely.
- Proactively contact customers about past‑due receivables, determine reasons for non‑payment, and place accounts on credit hold when necessary. Handle incoming calls from sales offices and customers on a variety of items.
- Monitor an assigned customer portfolio to mitigate loss exposure, ensuring compliance with approved credit lines. Recommend changes to credit lines and prepare over‑line approval requests within your authority level. Run DNB reports and obtain credit references as needed.
- Promote, negotiate, and sell automated/pre‑payment options to customers.
- High School Diploma required; BS/BA in Finance, Accounting, or other Business degree preferred.
- 1‑3 years of experience in collections or customer service, preferably in manufacturing. Experience with risk analysis and receivable collection is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships with team personnel, sales representatives, commercial offices, plants, and customers.
- Ability to prioritize work daily, weekly, and monthly to meet or exceed collection metrics.
- Proficiency in PC and basic Microsoft Office.
