Position: Generalist, People & Culture - US

DLF North America is currently recruiting for a People & Culture Generalist, US for our operation located in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

About The Job

The People & Culture Generalist works closely with the People & Culture Manager and team. They maintain an open‑door policy for all employees at DLF USA Inc. and associated companies. The role assists the US People & Culture department in carrying out a variety of administrative and operational tasks, including maintaining employee records, assisting in recruitment and onboarding, coordinating People & Culture activities, and addressing routine employee inquiries.

The position ensures smooth execution of People & Culture functions while upholding company policies and labor law compliance.

Job Responsibilities Administrative Support
  • Maintain and update employee records in People & Culture systems and databases.
  • Prepare and process People & Culture documents, such as employment contracts, offer letters, and termination notices.
  • Assist in the preparation of People & Culture reports and presentations.
  • Schedule meetings, interviews, and People & Culture events.
Recruitment and Onboarding
  • Post job advertisements on job boards and company platforms.
  • Screen resumes and assist in coordinating interviews.
  • Conduct reference checks and verify candidate information.
  • Assist in onboarding new hires, including organizing orientation sessions and ensuring completion of paperwork.
Employee Relations
  • Address routine employee inquiries regarding People & Culture policies, benefits, and procedures.
  • Support organizing employee engagement activities and events.
  • Assist with employee grievance handling and, when necessary, escalations.
Compliance and Documentation
  • Ensure People & Culture activities comply with labor laws and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
  • Assist in audits related to HR processes and documentation.
Training and Development
  • Coordinate training schedules and logistics.
  • Maintain records of employee training and certifications.
  • Assist in tracking performance appraisals and development plans.

Respond to People & Culture related inquiries.

Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations regarding hiring practices and government regulations.

Maintain knowledge of best practices in all aspects of People & Culture, including recruiting, retention and systems.

Other duties as assigned by Manager.

This role is in office 4 days a week, at our La Crosse, Wisconsin site.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of people experience in increasingly responsible roles.
  • Experience with HR and payroll systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of HR related laws.
  • Excellent verbal, written, listening and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, prioritization and follow-up skills.
  • Creative and out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Ability to work accurately with figures and perform detailed work.
  • Must demonstrate ability to exercise judgment, initiative, and tact.
  • Ability to work with confidential data.
  • Must present a professional, business-like manner and appearance.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Comfort with technology and strong ability to learn new systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred
  • HR Certification, PHR or SHRM.
  • 5+ years of quality work experience.
Compensation and Benefits

DLF USA Inc. offers a compensation plan that includes base salary, benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, bonus opportunities, retirement savings plan with company contribution, paid holidays, vacation and personal days. Compensation will be based on experience.
