Job SummaryAt Trane Technologies we Challenge Possible. Our brands – including Trane® and Thermo King® – create cooling and comfort for buildings, protect perishables during transport, and innovate to reduce energy demands and carbon emissions. The IT Operational Execution Intern will support the company's IT operations, implementing new systems and processes, creating dashboards, tracking IT tasks and budgets, managing software and hardware assets, and providing technical support.
The internship requires year‑round availability while attending school full time, a 3‑month probationary period, and an anticipated 1‑year assignment with the possibility to continue until graduation. Students must be able to work 20 hours/week during the school year and up to 40 hours/week during summer, with flexible workdays to accommodate schedules within normal business hours.
- Support the implementation of new IT systems and processes.
- Assist in the development of standard operating procedures and work instructions for IT operations.
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement in IT operations.
- Communicate & collaborate with the IT team and cross‑functional teams to minimize waste & rework and ensure operations run smoothly.
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate key performance indicators and project updates.
- Help train users in processes and coordinate IT activities.
- Participate in cross‑functional teams to support IT projects and initiatives.

- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with IT systems and operations.

- Knowledge of networking, cybersecurity, and data backup and recovery principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software tools.
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize tasks.
Hourly pay range: $22/hr to $30/hr (annual base salary range $18.00 – $26.50). The actual compensation will depend on factors such as seniority, merit, geographic location, education, experience, travel requirements, and union designation.
