- Tuesday and every other Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
Support efficient daily operations by leading floor execution of shipping and warehouse activities. Ensure proper packaging, system transactions, and accurate handling of inventory and shipments to meet customer requirements. The Lead focuses on hands‑on coordination, team support, and operational performance, while partnering with the APS for escalations, administrative tasks, and employee relations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Operational Execution:
Execute daily shipping and kitting activities to meet schedule, quality, and accuracy targets. Utilize required systems (AES, Carrier Networks, TMS, BOL creation/retention) to support shipments. Perform SAP transactions and ensure compliance with customer‑specific requirements. Coordinate daily shipping activities with workcells and carrier schedules. - Support cut‑off times, delivery commitments, and shipment prioritization.
- Team Coordination & Support:
Assign and direct daily tasks for team members based on production needs. Provide real‑time guidance, coaching, and support on the floor. Act as first point of contact for operational issues; elevate larger concerns to APS. Assist with onboarding and training of employees; help reinforce standard work. Promote teamwork, accountability, and adherence to safety and quality standards. - Performance & Problem Solving:
Monitor workflow and identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, or risks to shipment schedules. Perform Post Goods Issue research and assist in issue resolution. Communicate inventory or shipment discrepancies to the APS and workcell. Contribute ideas to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline processes. Help drive continuous improvement efforts (Lean, 5S, process standardization). - Communication & Coordination:
Maintain strong communication with workcells, carriers, and internal teams. Provide updates to APS on daily performance, risks, and priorities. Support customer satisfaction by ensuring accurate and timely shipments. Coordinate with cross‑functional teams within plant operations. - Compliance & Support:
Follow all safety, health, and security policies and procedures. Support accurate documentation and system updates related to shipping activities. Assist APS with tracking team performance and training progress (no direct ownership of Kronos or disciplinary actions). - Perform other duties as assigned.
- Focuses on execution and floor leadership, not full operational ownership. Does not perform formal disciplinary actions; escalates employee concerns to APS.
- Limited administrative responsibilities (supports but does not own reporting, payroll, or performance documentation). Partners with APS for decision‑making beyond daily execution.
Knowledge Requirements
- Working knowledge of SAP and shipping systems (AES, TMS, carrier tools, BOLs)
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership
- Basic problem‑solving skills in a fast‑paced operational environment
- Ability to perform required mathematical calculations in shipping operations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook preferred)
- High School Diploma required
- 2–3 years of shipping, warehouse, or logistics experience preferred
- Prior lead or team coordination experience is a plus
- Equivalent combination of education, training, or experience
