Electrical Engineer - Maintenance Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to lead our maintenance team as a Maintenance Manager. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of our advanced beverage packaging machinery and electrical systems, contributing directly to our production goals and operational excellence.

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintenance Leadership & Strategy: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive preventative and predictive maintenance programs for all electrical and electro‑mechanical systems. Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and high performance.
  • Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose complex electrical and control system malfunctions in high‑speed production equipment. Oversee and actively participate in the repair, overhaul, and calibration of industrial electrical components, including PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, and power distribution systems.
  • Project Management: Plan, execute, and oversee electrical upgrade projects, equipment installations, and modifications, ensuring adherence to specifications, budget, and timelines. Collaborate with engineering and production teams on capital projects and process improvements.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all electrical work adheres to local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA and NFPA 70E standards. Implement and enforce robust safety protocols for electrical maintenance activities.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and analyze maintenance KPIs, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to reduce downtime, optimize equipment reliability, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Inventory & Budget Management: Manage spare parts inventory for electrical components, ensuring adequate stock levels while optimizing costs. Assist in developing and managing the departmental maintenance budget.
  • Training & Development: Identify training needs for the maintenance team and develop/deliver training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in industrial electrical maintenance, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably within a high‑speed manufacturing environment (e.g., beverage, food, packaging).
  • Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs – Allen‑Bradley preferred), Human‑Machine Interfaces (HMIs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo systems, and industrial control networks.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
  • Thorough understanding of electrical safety regulations (NFPA 70E) and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a technical team.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and respond to urgent operational needs, which may include occasional off‑shift support.
