JOB SUMMARYThe Exhaust Manager oversees daily operations of S&S Cycle’s exhaust manufacturing processes and fully optimized for production. This role leads the exhaust production team, and drives quality and throughput improvements. The position requires strong leadership, technical problem‑solving, and the ability to balance production priorities with long‑term facility planning to support efficient and continuous operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThoroughly understand and adhere to the department goals, objectives, and strategy
Establish and maintain credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions
Manage day to day production operations, personnel, and utilize general business principles
Utilization of ERP/MRP system
Read and distribute blueprints and administer Bill of Materials
Responsible for the selection, performance, and optimal utilization of personnel by mentoring and providing educational opportunities and administering the employee evaluation program
Work with support organizations to ensure efficient use of capital equipment in the Exhaust department
Responsible for the enforcement of discipline and the establishment and maintenance of positive morale amongst employees within scope of responsibility
Lead Exhaust manufacturing to world class performance by creating a Lean culture that embraces continuous improvement
Responsible for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and training through monitoring of performance indicators, education and accountability
Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced employees
Maintain time and attendance records for reports
Keeps records of departmental activities as required
Assure efficient use of labor and materials
QUALIFICATIONS5 plus years of supervisory experience with shop floor personnel in a fabrication & manufacturing shop
Bachelor’s preferred
Familiar with principles of Just‑In‑Time and Lean Manufacturing
Knowledge of basic manufacturing processes (i.e. welding, forming, sawing, etc.)
Knowledge of safety practices and quality regulations
Flexible, energetic, forward‑thinking, and creative with high moral and ethical standards
High analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
Well organized and self‑directed
Able to relate to people at all levels of the organization in a positive fashion
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; working knowledge of computer applications
WORKING CONDITIONS &PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Will be required to perform job duties in a manufacturing production environment
While performing duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and forklift traffic
The noise level is moderate, and some production areas may require hearing protection in accordance with OSHA requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to manipulate objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms above shoulders, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
Must comply with safety and PPE standards, including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety toed shoes
